Natural Finish (Rough Finish)

Natural finish granite — also known as raw, or rough finish — is granite left exactly as it comes off the saw, with no polishing, honing, or surface texturing applied afterward. The surface is flat but unrefined, showing fine saw lines and the stone's natural mineral pattern in a matte, non-reflective state. It is the least-processed granite finish available, and the most economical, since no additional grinding or treatment is applied after cutting.

• Visible saw texture: Fine, close-set lines from the saw blade remain on the surface, giving a subtle handmade character.

• Lower slip resistance than textured finishes: The surface is rough to the touch but flat, so it does not grip like a flamed or bush-hammered finish. Not the right choice for wet outdoor areas, pool surrounds, or ramps — use flamed or bush-hammered there instead.

• Higher porosity than polished stone: The open, ungrated surface absorbs more than a polished or honed face, so sealing matters more here, especially outdoors.
